The Blair Oaks R-2 School District Board of Education on Tuesday approved employee COVID-19 leave provisions for the 2021-22 school year.
During the 2020-21 school year, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act granted 80 hours per employee in a year to individuals who were quarantined due to having COVID-19 or identified as a close contact. In March, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act was extended through Sept. 30.
On Tuesday, the board approved the following provisions that will be in place starting Oct. 1:
- Any employee who tests positive for COVID-19 will be given eight days of leave before regular district leave policies are followed.
- All employees with a positive test result will follow the guidance of the local health department on when to return to work.
- The district will follow the recommended guidelines provided by the local health department for quarantines of employees.
These provisions may be updated if there is a change to recommended protocols, according to the district.
