Multiple injured in weekend accidents

Fulton resident Melissa G. Love, 47, sustained serious injuries and Jefferson City resident Robert P. Miller, 40, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle wreck Sunday.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred at 2:15 a.m. on old U.S. 50, about .5 miles east of Osage County Road 602.

The wreck occurred as Love was driving east and fell asleep. The vehicle went down an embankment, striking several trees.

Neither Love nor Miller were wearing seat belts. Both were transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia following the crash.

Holts Summit resident Richelle L. Schnieders, 51, suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle wreck Saturday night in Callaway County.

The patrol said the wreck happened at 10:30 p.m. as she was driving north on County Road 4036, about .1 miles north of Honey Hill Orchard.

Schnieders' vehicle crossed the center line and sideswiped a vehicle driven south by Alyssa M. Borchelt, 33, of Freeburg.

Schnieders' vehicle went off the left side of the road into a residential yard and struck a parked vehicle.

Schnieders, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton.

Borchelt was not listed as being injured.

Linn resident Mary Kling, 54, suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon in Cole County.

Kling was driving east at about 12:25 a.m. when a vehicle driven by Jesse F. Hays, 23, of Jefferson City, struck her vehicle from behind, according to the patrol.

Hays' vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned. He was not listed as being injured.

Kling's vehicle crossed the westbound lanes and struck a ditch. Kling was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

She was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City.
