One person was hurt in a two vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Jefferson City.
According to police reports, Jefferson City Police Department officers responded at 6:52 a.m. to a motor vehicle crash in the 2900 block of West Truman Boulevard.
The investigation revealed both vehicles were going eastbound. Jesse Schatz, 55, of Sullivan, stopped in traffic to make a left turn, without any rear lighting or signals activated. Stephen Buersmeyer, 73, of Jefferson City, was unable to avoid collision and struck the rear of the Schatz's vehicle.
Buersmeyer had to be extricated from his vehicle and was then taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Schatz had no reported injuries.
