3 injured in Thursday crash

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday night in Cole County.

Missouri Highway Patrol reports state the crash occurred at 7:35 p.m. on Route B at Ashbury Way.

Jakob McKandles, 25, of Holts Summit, attempted to cross Route B and failed to yield to a vehicle driven by Zachary Bond, 22, of Eugene. Bond then struck McKandles.

The patrol report shows Bond and McKandles had no reported injuries. However, three people in McKandles’ vehicle were hurt. They included Alex Bax, of Jefferson City, who had serious injuries, along with Ashlee Stone and a 1-year-old girl, both of Holts Summit, and both of whom were treated for moderate injuries.

Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 6:45 a.m. on Eastbound U.S. 54, a mile east of Missouri 17.

Skyler Emgland, 21, of Kansas City, went off the left side of the road, struck a cable barrier, continued eastbound and collided with a ditch. He was wearing a seat belt and was treated for minor injuries.
