Registration to enroll your child in the Jefferson City School District for the 2021-22 school year is open.

Current students

For returning JC Schools students, log into your parent portal account and click "More" from the menu options. From there, select "Online Registration."

For parent portal account assistance, email [email protected]. Online registration doesn't always work well on cellphones, so the district recommends using a computer or tablet, according to its website.

Families of students in first through 12th grade who complete online registration do not have to attend the registration event at their schools in August, except Jefferson City Academic Center students. The district expects longer wait times at registration events due to social distancing guidelines and recommends completing online registration instead, according to its website.

JCAC students who complete online registration will still have to attend registration in August, but registration will be faster, according to the website.

If student fines and fees are paid and the district has compliant immunization records on file, students and their families can receive teacher assignments and schedules this summer.

Students who will be in first through fifth grade for the 2021-22 school year will receive teacher assignments before the end of June. Students who will be in eighth through 12th grade for the 2021-22 school year will receive schedules Aug. 2, according to the district's website.

The virtual education application window for the 2021-22 school year will open in August, according to district officials. More information will be available this summer, according to the district's website.

Kindergarten/new students

To begin the online enrollment process for students who will be new to the district, visit jcschools.us and click "New to the District " under "Quick Links" to find a registration link.

Parents or guardians of a student who will be 5 years old before Aug. 1, 2021, can register a student for kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year.

Once the online registration application is submitted, a confirmation email from [email protected] will be sent.

Once the application is processed in up to 15 business days, a second email will be sent with a link to schedule an appointment - conducted over the phone - to complete registration.

To complete enrollment, the required documents may be faxed to 573-659-3028, emailed to [email protected] or brought to the Welcome Center at 315 E. Dunklin St. The Welcome Center is open 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays.

Most cellphones are not able to support the online application. If you do not have access to a tablet or computer, you can complete enrollment on a computer or paper packet at the Welcome Center. Walk-ins are served on a first-come, first-served basis. Make sure to bring the required documents.

To view the list of required documents, visit jcschools.us and click "kindergarten registration."

The district recommends enrolling for kindergarten early so your child can attend Kindergarten Open House, where there will be screenings for kindergarten readiness and opportunities to see the school, meet the principal and teachers, and see the kindergarten classrooms. The date for the open house is to be determined, according to the district's website.
