Traffic stop leads to drug bust in Cole County

A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon in Cole County led to the arrest of one person for illegal drugs.

According to Cole County Sheriff's Department reports, at approximately 12:39 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Westview Drive. As a result of the stop, approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine were reportedly recovered. Authorities said that amount of meth could make over 55 doses of the drug. Deputies also seized 44 grams of marijuana as a result of the stop.

Authorities arrested one person and he was identified as Elden Charles Allen Johnson. He was booked into the Cole County Jail on two charges of possession of a controlled substance and one charge of delivery of a controlled substance.
