More than 1,000 people will attend Vitae Foundation fundraisers Tuesday.

The foundation annually hosts luncheon and dinner fundraisers and pro-life events at the Capitol Plaza Hotel, 415 W. McCarty St.

The events raise money to promote a culture of life and to help educate women facing unplanned pregnancies about local resources available to help them make life-affirming decisions.

Hosted by Don and Ruth Anna Schneiders, they will feature keynote speaker, Fox News contributor and former congressman Jason Chaffetz, of Utah.

He was elected to Congress in 2008, before rising to chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

"In today's cancel culture, they want to make you ashamed of believing in life. They use Hollywood. They use messaging. They use words," Chaffetz said in a Vitae news release. "(Vitae) is one of few organizations that understands this and can touch a young woman's life at that decision-point, when she's seeking and needing information at the most critical juncture."

Chaffetz shares Vitae's #ProWomanApproach to reach women before the abortion industry does, Vitae senior market director Stacey Kromer said in the release.

Kelsey Brown, Vitae's director of communications, said limited tickets for the events remained available late last week. Call to check on availability at 573-634-4316.

"It is an opportunity for our donors to learn more about what Vitae is doing today around the abortion issue," Brown said. "It gives our donors an opportunity to set up giving that night - a pledge or a recurring gift. We're looking forward to it."
