Russellville City Hall to reopen April 5

After repairs to the HVAC system and electrical wiring at Russellville City Hall postponed the building's reopening in February, the facility is scheduled to reopen April 5.

A 24-hour drop box at the front door of City Hall is still available to take utility bill payments, City Clerk Jan Wyatt said. Residents may still mail in payments or call City Hall at 573-782-3511 to make a credit card payment.

One reason for the closure has been the installation of an ADA-accessible ramp and entrance, including an automatic push-button opener, Wyatt said.

The front of the building on Railroad Avenue has gotten a minor facelift with new paint.

"The improvements will make visits to City Hall safer for everyone, including those dependent on canes, walkers and wheelchairs for their mobility," Wyatt said. "The main office area was painted, and new flooring was installed. We also replaced the sidewalk in front of the handicapped parking so there's not as much of a trip hazard."

While City Hall has been closed to the public, city operations have continued with business handled by phone or email, she said. In-person appointments at another site can be arranged as needed.

Wyatt can be reached by phone at the City Hall phone number, 573-782-3511 and by email at [email protected].
