A Jefferson City man was ordered to complete a 120-day shock detention sentence in prison after pleading guilty to charges he faced following a drug bust in November 2019.

Bruce Cannady Jr., 27, pleaded guilty during a hearing before Cole County Judge Cotton Walker to two felony charges of possession of a controlled substance.

A misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance was dismissed.

If he fails to meet the conditions for his release after 120 days, or if he fails to meet conditions of his probation after his release, he faces seven years in prison.

The search warrant was served in the 300 block of East Dunklin Street, according to a Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement. Crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and a working digital scale were recovered from the residence. Cannady was identified as the occupant of the residence.

Authorities found several plastic bags with heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana in the kitchen.
