The Missouri River Regional Library's Osage branch has a new manager.

The library has promoted from within, selecting Sarah Falter, of Osage County, for the position.

Falter, who has been with MRRL for about 12 years, most recently acted as the acquisitions library assistant III.

She replaces Noelle Parker, who was Osage Branch manager since 2013 and left in May to pursue another career opportunity.

Parker served as the library in Linn overcame growing pains. Early in 2020, the branch moved from a rented 4,000-square-foot building on Main Street, where it had been for 18 years, to the former Deutsches Heim building on Osage County Road CC.

MRRL had purchased the building for $370,000 the previous year, then remodeled it. The branch opened in March 2020 but had to close within about a week because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened and held a grand opening celebration in August.

Falter brings a lot of energy to the branch manager position, MRRL Director Claudia Cook said. She is expected to continue to raise the profile of the library and its services in Osage County, according to a library news release.

A good time to meet Falter and welcome her to the branch will occur when the library hosts an open house, scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon July 17, at the Osage County Branch, 22 Library Lane in Linn.

The Osage County library hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
