State Museum offering virtual bicentennial program

The Missouri State Museum and the Daniel Boone Regional Library will offer a Missouri Trailblazers virtual program featuring author Laura Ingalls Wilder at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Even before writing her first "Little House" book, Wilder was making contributions to educational and inspirational literature for Missouri farm folks, according to a museum news release.

Her life as a child, teenager and adult had challenges that seemed insurmountable - just like challenges faced in 2020 and 2021 with the unexpected pandemic.

Adults and teens are invited to attend. Participants must register at events.dbrl.org/event/5102675.

This program is a part of a monthly series in honor of Missouri's bicentennial, highlighting Missouri's most significant trailblazers who have had an impact on our culture through major events, leadership, innovation and more.
