Road project at Bagnell Dam wins approval

Rehabilitation of the Business 54 Bagnell Dam road deck over the Osage River, located in Lake Ozark, was approved by the Highways and Transportation Commission.

During their meeting Wednesday, the commissioners awarded the project to Concrete Strategies LLC., which submitted the low bid of $1,611,862.

The road atop of the dam was built in 1929.

The purpose of the project is to repair the deck, expansion joints and barrier walls as well as replace the surface and repair the adjacent sidewalk.

MoDOT officials said this should extend the life and usability of the road.

During construction, Business 54 will be closed at the dam for approximately three months. Motorists will need to use an alternate route while work takes place.

The project is scheduled to begin after the Labor Day holiday and be completed by the end of the year.
