A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a shooting that injured two people Wednesday night in Jefferson City.

The shooting occurred at 9:19 p.m. Wednesday at the Phillips 66 service station in the 800 block of Stadium Boulevard, according to Jefferson City Police Department reports.

Both victims as well as multiple witnesses provided a suspect description including the vehicle used to leave the scene. Both victims were transported for medical treatment of what appeared to be non-life-threatening wounds.

Investigators worked through the night and morning hours Thursday to locate the suspect, a 23-year-old Jefferson City resident, on Thursday afternoon.

The suspect is currently on pre-trial release for an arrest in 2019 for first-degree robbery.

Investigators said they also recovered the weapon believed to have been used during the shooting.

The man in custody at the Cole County Jail is facing possible charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of weapons.
