The Missouri Department of Conservation will reopen its Runge Nature Center and Conservation Commission Headquarters in Jefferson City to the public Monday.

Reductions in new COVID-19 cases in Cole County have allowed for the reopenings, according to an MDC news release.

Masks or other appropriate face coverings and social distancing will be required of those who go into buildings at both locations.

The facilities closed to the public in December after the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services classified Cole County under the "extreme risk" category due to the region's COVID-19 positivity rate and case rate.

Runge Nature Center building hours will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays. The building is closed Sundays and Mondays and all state holidays. Nature area hours at Runge are from 6 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. Outdoor restrooms are open year-round when the area is open.
