Two people have been charged after a chase Thursday with authorities in Jefferson City.

Christopher Killion, 31, of Eldon, is charged with felony counts of resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, along with misdemeanor counts of stealing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Danica Poston, 37, of Meta, is charged with one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance along with three misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property.

Killion and Poston were identified by authorities as having been involved in thefts in Cole County, and their descriptions were given to officers so they could be on the lookout for them, according to Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statements.

One officer reportedly noticed a vehicle Killion and Poston had been seen driving in the 200 block of North Lincoln Street.

When the officer went up to the vehicle, Killion and Poston were inside, but both fled from the vehicle. Killion reportedly went through multiple backyards before he was taken into custody on South Lincoln Street. Poston had fled to the back of a residence on North Lincoln Street and was later found hiding underneath the house.

Both Killion and Poston reportedly told authorities they ran because they knew they had warrants out for their arrests.

Officers later recovered a black bag which they said contained a digital scale, glass pipe, syringe and two separate bags of a white crystal substance. Also allegedly found in the bag was a rental agreement with Poston's name on it. When questioned, authorities said, Poston admitted to using methamphetamine.

A Cole County deputy was called to the scene and reportedly confirmed other property that had been found in the vehicle was connected to theft investigations in the county.
