The Missouri Senate's committee on gubernatorial appointments Wednesday accepted Gov. Mike Parson's nomination of a prospective Board of Regents member for State Technical College of Missouri.
Parson nominated Shanda Trautman, of Nixa, in late February 2020 to fill a Democratic spot on State Tech's Board of Regents.
In December, however, Parson withdrew from the Senate's consideration appointments including Trautman's. She told the committee Wednesday her confirmation hearing had been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now that she has been approved by the Senate's gubernatorial appointments committee — all nominees before the body Wednesday were approved with one unanimous vote — her nomination to the Linn college's Board of Regents heads to a vote sometime before the entire Senate.
Trautman leads marketing for Old Missouri Bank in Springfield, is a graduate of Missouri State University and has been active in the Springfield community.
She told senators Wednesday she has a passion for economic development and preparing the state's workforce, as banking is only as strong as the community it serves.
Other gubernatorial appointees approved Wednesday included several to the Missouri Workforce Development Board, as well as others to housing development, dental, architectural, sports complex, bi-state development, dietitian and hazardous waste commissions, boards, authorities, committees and agencies.
