Two weekend 5K events to benefit Jefferson City charities

If you lace up your running or walking shoes Saturday, your steps can benefit two Capital City charitable organizations.

On Saturday, a Jefferson City Area Board of Realtors 5K event will benefit the Council for Drug Free Youth, and a Bubble and Bounces 5K Run/Walk will benefit the Pregnancy Help Center of Central Missouri.

Cinco de Mayo 5K to benefit CDFY

Back for the 15th year, the Cinco de Mayo 5K Run/Walk on Saturday will benefit the Council for Drug Free Youth.

The event, which will be held rain or shine, begins with registration at 7 a.m. and the walk/run starting at 8 a.m. at the North Jefferson City Pavilion, 927 Fourth St. The course then turns onto Cedar City Drive, Oil Well Road and around the golf course to the Katy Trail before returning to the pavilion.
