Morgan County Sheriff Norman Dills will be hosting a seven-week citizens academy starting in June.

Dills said the academy will give students a better understanding of the daily operations of the sheriff's department, the duties and responsibilities of the patrol, detectives and jail staff.

The academy is free of charge and is limited to 20 people.

The classes will be one night a week and all those applying will have to submit to a background check.

To apply, visit morgancountymoso.org or visit the sheriff's department at 211 E. Newton St. in Versailles.
