Gas leak prompts evacuations of two California homes

A gas leak at 400 W. Barry Ave. in California has prompted two house evacuations, according to Ameren Missouri.

A cut gas main at the address is being addressed by two Ameren servicemen, who were still on site as of 2:30 p.m. Thursday; a repair crew was en route at the same time.

As a result of the cut gas main, valves were closed to shut down a main gas pipeline, according to information from Ameren. This resulted in a customer outage of approximately 40 houses. According to Ameren, servicemen continue to monitor the area of the gas leak.
