Splash pad, park restrooms closed for winter

With the onset of colder temperatures, the Community Park splash pad in Jefferson City has been winterized for the season.

The splash pad, which opened in early July after construction of the new Community Park was competed, will return in the spring.

Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department staff will also be winterizing some of the park restrooms.

Restrooms at Edgewood greenway, Memorial Park, Binder Lake deck, Ellis-Porter Riverside Park and McKay Park are open year-round, but non-heated restrooms will be closing.

Winterizing of these non-heated restrooms, which include Community Park's, will begin Nov. 1, depending on the weather. The restrooms are typically available April through October.
