Cole, Osage counties get community COVID-19 testing

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will hold two COVID-19 community testing event in Mid-Missouri next week.

A Jefferson City testing event is scheduled from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 27 at First Assembly of God church, 1900 Route C.

Another testing event in Osage County is scheduled from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Osage County Fairgrounds in Linn.

The free testing is available to any Missouri resident and does not require a doctor's referral.

DHSS is partnering with the Missouri National Guard and local health departments to offer the events, according to the DHSS website.

The test is done by nasal swabs to determine if there is an active infection. This is not an antibody test.
