There's still time to submit questions and topics for discussion for tonight's Jefferson City Community Engagement Series town hall event on public safety.

Lincoln University, the News Tribune and KRCG TV are partnering to sponsor the community engagement series focused on improving public safety in the community.

The town hall will seek to gather different perspectives about how to improve public safety, and it will be followed up with a roundtable discussion in the spring between stakeholders and decision-makers who will use the agenda developed from the town hall event to create practical solutions, LU political science professor Darius Watson said.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit questions or ideas for discussion at newstribune.com/townhall.

The town hall, which will be a virtual event because of the COVID-19 pandemic, is scheduled from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today.

Five socially-distanced panelists will offer answers and insights to questions from the community, and the event will be digitally broadcast - managed by KRCG - from Richardson Auditorium on LU's campus.

The livestream will be available to view at newstribune.com.
