The city of Russellville is conducting a community survey in connection with the development of a comprehensive plan.

"We've never had a comprehensive plan," City Clerk Jan Wyatt said. "It's required for planning and zoning. We have P&Z, but we're reorganizing and bringing it up to date."

The city expects the comprehensive plan - being created by staff with Mid-Missouri Regional Planning Commission in Ashland - could be done by the end of this year, Wyatt said.

City officials said the information from the survey will be gathered and included in the comprehensive plan for the town which they hope provides an outline of community strengths, weaknesses and needs to be used for future project development and funding assistance.

The survey asks questions on topics including housing needs, safety, businesses and jobs in Russellville.

To complete the 10-question survey, go to the "City Hall Russellville MO" Facebook page, where you'll be directed to a link with the survey.

"We would like to have all responses in by Dec. 1," Wyatt said.
