Governor's Prayer Breakfast canceled

An annual interfaith event held by the Missouri Governor's Office has been canceled.

Gov. Mike Parson's office announced Thursday afternoon the 2021 Governor's Prayer Breakfast has been canceled.

Proceeds from the annual ticketed event support the Governor's Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values - a forum of select Missouri college juniors for three days of study in faith and leadership, as demonstrated by business executives, sports figures and government officials.

The event features a high-profile keynote speaker; 2020's breakfast in January featured U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.
