Residents looking for a cheap, late-night meal can now order American cuisines from the new Choose Me Cuisine food truck.
Stationed in the Phillips 66 parking lot, at 807 Stadium Blvd. in Jefferson City, Choose Me Cuisine opened about a month ago. It offers supreme taco nachos, fish fillets, chicken wings and more.
"I knew I wanted to sell something that was popular and a lot of party-goers would like to eat before they drink or after they've been drinking," owner Shameka Price said. "I figured, why not take chicken wings and nachos, and turn it into a cuisine by adding little different perks to the dishes?"
The food truck is typically open 8 p.m.-1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Cuisines cost $8-$10.
Since opening Choose Me Cuisine, Price said the reception has been great, adding she has several repeat customers already.
"Putting my all into my dishes and the customer interaction is my favorite part of the job," she said. "I think that's because of the customer service we give, the communication I have with them and the taste of the food. I try to switch it up with the basic things that I have and have something that keeps them coming back."
Presentation is also a huge factor when serving food, Price said, adding that sets her apart from other businesses.
A first-time business owner, Price said she was motivated to create something of her own that she could later pass down to her children.
"I'm getting the hands-on experience I need to move forward and that's something I enjoy about it," she said. "Any Friday or Saturday, I know I'm going to interact with someone."
