Holts Summit man injured in Jefferson City motorcycle crash

A man was injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident Saturday afternoon.

Darryl Sinden, 60, of Holts Summit, lost control of his vehicle at about 3:40 p.m. at the 900 block of U.S. 50 West, according to a traffic crash release from the Jefferson City Police Department.

Preliminary investigations show Sinden was merging onto U.S. 50 West from U.S. 54 West when he lost control of his vehicle. The motorcycle then traveled across all four lanes of westbound 50, coming to rest against the center concrete barrier, according to the release.

Sinden sustained serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital, and the motorcycle was towed due to disabling damage. Traffic was diverted for about 30 minutes while the scene was investigated, according to the release.
