Traffic stop leads to arrest in Moniteau County

A man from Qulin was arrested after a traffic stop in Moniteau County this week.

Deputies were on patrol Wednesday on U.S. 50 near Flag Springs Road, according to Moniteau County Sheriff’s Department reports. They were flagged down by a citizen who said they were following a vehicle that suddenly stopped in the middle of the roadway and the driver walked around the vehicle, yelling at the passenger. The citizen said the driver then got back in his vehicle and continued driving east on U.S. 50.

Deputies eventually caught up with the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Kiley Ford Road. The driver, later identified as Travis Bond, 36, allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody for DWI.

Deputies also allegedly found Bond was in possession of a methamphetamine pipe and other drug paraphernalia.
