Missouri State Parks seeking trails board nominations

Missouri State Parks is accepting nominations for three members of the Missouri Trails Advisory Board.

The nine voting-member board - appointed by the Missouri State Parks division director - review, score and rank grant applications and make recommendations to the Missouri State Parks' Grant Management Section, annually review the recreational trail project application and open selection process, and develop eligibility criteria for projects and sponsors, according to a news release from Missouri State Parks.

The three seats on the board that nominations are being sought for have three-year terms, from Nov. 1, 2020, through Nov. 30, 2023.

New board members are appointed based upon their experience with trail use and construction, community involvement, participation in trail user groups, their ability to represent other trail users, ability to give enough time to their duties, knowledge about the Americans with Disabilities Act and experience.

The three specific representative positions accepting nominations are for all-terrain vehicle riding, bicycling and accessibility.

To nominate someone, submit the required form - found at mostateparks.com/sites/mostateparks/files/MTAB%20Nomination%20Form.pdf - a resume or other background information for the nominee and two letters of recommendation.

Electronic submission is preferred via email to [email protected].

If electronic submission is not possible, nominations can be mailed to: Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, Grants Management Section, P.O. Box 176, Jefferson City, MO, 65102-0176.
