A Dixon man was injured Saturday evening when the van he was driving ran off a Cole County road and struck several trees.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Michael A. Hood, 67, received moderate injuries in the 5 p.m. crash on U.S. 54 one-half mile west of Penny Hollow Road.
Hood was transported by helicopter ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
A patrol arrest report indicates Hood was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash, and not wearing a seat belt.
