Troop F to participate in special enforcement operations

Missouri Highway Patrol Troop F in Jefferson City will participate in special enforcement operations over the Memorial Day holiday weekend, according to a patrol news release.

Troopers within the 13 counties in Troop F and throughout the state will participate in Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness & Reduction Effort). Troopers will watch for all traffic violations and will be especially vigilant regarding distracted driving, impaired driving, aggressive driving, excessive speed and seat belt violations.

This year's counting period for the holiday weekend begins at 6 p.m. Friday and ends at 11:59 p.m. Monday.

In addition to Operation C.A.R.E., Troop F will participate in special enforcement operations during the peak travel periods on Friday and Monday on I-70, U.S. 63, U.S. 54, U.S. 50, and Missouri 5.

Memorial Day weekend is also an unofficial start to boating season. Boaters are reminded that troopers will also be out at the Lake of the Ozarks targeting all boating violations, the patrol's news release notes.
