A 200-photograph exhibition of Missouri's physical and cultural landscape will visit the Missouri River Regional Library next month, according to a news release from the State Historical Society of Missouri.

The exhibit will include some Mid-Missouri photographers' work.

The "My Missouri 2021 Photograph Project" received almost 1,000 submissions for an exhibit that will travel across the state this year and next as part of Missouri's bicentennial celebrations. Missouri became the United States' 24th state on Aug. 10, 1821.

The State Historical Society is coordinating bicentennial commemorations under the "Missouri 2021 Bicentennial" banner, with local and other statewide organizations.

The photos selected by representatives from the State Historical Society for the exhibit are oriented around the four seasons.

Nickolas Hartman, strategic communications associate with the State Historical Society, shared the names of Mid-Missouri people whose photos will be featured in the exhibit.

Lloyd Grotjan, of California, had three photos selected.

Several other Mid-Missourians each had one photo selected: Jerry Backes, of Linn; Haley Davidson, of Mokane; Mary Ellen Lohman, of Ashland; Deborah Lucia, of Fulton; Sean Rost, of Jefferson City; Marty Scheall, of Fulton; Jeni Stock, of Russellville; and Helen Wilbers, of Fulton.

Wilbers is the editor of the Fulton Sun, a sister newspaper of the News Tribune.

The exhibit will be at the Missouri River Regional Library from April 9-27, following a March 28 event at the Center for Missouri Studies in Columbia.

The exhibit was designed by PRO Expo Exhibits, of St. Louis, and as a platinum sponsor, Shelter Insurance has provided half of the cost of the design and fabrication of the exhibit and its travels around the state.
