A Jefferson City man has been charged with second-degree drug trafficking following a search warrant at his residence Friday.

Mark Moots, 36, is also charged with delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

The search warrant was served at 10:39 a.m. in the 1000 block of Boonville Road, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.

Authorities said Moots was found hiding in a shower.

Authorities reportedly found 576 grams of packaged marijuana, 251 grams of what was believed to be packaged methamphetamine and a fully loaded .380-caliber pistol. A fully loaded shotgun and digital scale were also found, officers reported.

When questioned, Moots allegedly admitted the shotgun was his and he had kept it for his protection. He also allegedly admitted the methamphetamine and marijuana belonged to him.
