After a delayed start to the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jefferson City's three farmers markets are back in business.

The Capital City Farmers Market opened for the season June 6, running from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays in the parking lot of Orscheln Farm & Home, 2304 Missouri Blvd.

Area residents who grow produce, bake items or make products they would like to sell can contact the market via Facebook or by email at [email protected].

The Capital City Farmers Market accepts SNAP and EBT payments.

The Lincoln University Farmers Market spent several weeks operating through virtual orders and drive-thru pickups but reopened as an outdoor market June 6 at a new location.

The LU market is now located at 1002 Chestnut St. from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturdays through September.

Interested vendors can apply at lufarmersmarket.com.

The Cole County Farmers Market, located in the Capital Mall parking lot at 3600 Country Club Drive, runs from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays, and from 2-4 p.m. Saturdays.

A list of items being sold is typically posted to the Cole County market's Facebook page the day of each market. Interested vendors can contact the market via Facebook messenger.

The farmers markets typically offer a variety of fresh produce and other food items. Selections at each market change based on which vendors are set up that day.
