4 positions filled on Russellville school board

Four people were elected to the Cole R-1 (Russellville) Board of Education in Tuesday's election.

Adam Weber, Ritchie Jenkins and Aaron Wyss were elected for three-year terms on the board, and Jenifer Seaver was elected for a one-year term to complete the term of former board president Jerry Schulte.

Weber received 267 votes (25.04 percent), Jenkins received 188 votes (17.63 percent), and Wyss received 171 votes (16.05 percent).

Renee Bungart received 163 votes (15.3 percent), Elaine Buschjost received 150 votes (14.08 percent) and Rodney Edwards received 123 votes (11.53 percent). There were 1,066 total votes for the three-year terms, including four write-in candidates.

Seaver received 244 votes (67.41 percent) and Jesse Farris received 118 votes (32.6 percent). There were 362 total votes for the one-year term.

Wyss has lived in Russellville for almost his entire life, and he has two children in the district.

Weber, a lifelong Russellville resident, is a professional electrical engineer and the vice president of operations at Central Electric Power Cooperative. He has four children - one who attends elementary school in Russellville and three who will in the future.

Jenkins, who was born and raised in Russellville, has three children in the school district. He works in information technologies for the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Seaver, a lifelong Russellville resident, has three children in the district. She is the president at Missouri Baptist Credit Union.
