Jefferson City man seriously injured in Saturday crash

Investigators said a 31-year-old Jefferson City man suffered serious injuries when he crashed while fleeing from Holts Summit police officers Saturday evening.

Officers from the Holts Summit Police Department were chasing Dustin R. Clements at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Missouri 391 in Callaway County. Clements, who was driving a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire at a high rate of speed, came to a “T” at Route OO and ran off the right side of the road, according to the incident report.

His vehicle went through a yard, struck a concrete retaining wall, then struck a concrete basement wall before coming to rest.

Clements was not wearing a seat belt. Paramedics took him by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.
