Jefferson City police seeking information related to Tuesday morning robbery

The Jefferson City Police Department is asking for the public's help in trying to find two suspects in a Tuesday morning robbery.

Officers responded at approximately 4:22 a.m. to the area of Panera Bread on Missouri Boulevard in reference to a robbery that had just occurred, according to police reports. The victim stated that upon exiting his vehicle, he was approached by two Black men, one of whom was brandishing a handgun. The suspects reportedly demanded the employee allow access to the business; and, once the suspects realized he didn't have the necessary keys to the business, they demanded his wallet and valuables.

The two suspects then fled the area, going west behind other businesses and out of the sight, the victim reported.

The victim described one suspect. as a shorter Black man with a beard and buzzed, wearing sunglasses, a white shirt and brown boots. The second suspect was described as a tall, skinny Black man.

A JCPD K-9 was able to track the suspects to a local parking lot before losing their trail.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.
