A traffic stop early Monday morning led Jefferson City police to arrest a man who was allegedly going to complete an illegal drug transaction.

Aaron Kipper, 29, is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and driving while suspended.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement states officers stopped Kipper just after midnight in the 500 block of Broadway Street.

He was riding a motorcycle which reportedly had an inoperable taillight.

It was found Kipper had a suspended license and as he was being placed under arrest, an officer also seized a loaded .45 caliber handgun from Kipper's waistband. The officer also allegedly found a large bag containing what reportedly later turned out to be methamphetamine and a smaller bag with what reportedly turned out to be cocaine.

Additionally, authorities found the motorcycle, which Kipper allegedly claimed to have just purchased, was reported stolen in a residential burglary in March in Maries County.

When questioned, Kipper said he had gone to a local drug dealer who gave him the motorcycle and methamphetamine. Kipper allegedly purchased the motorcycle for $900 and agreed to deliver the methamphetamine to a third party. He reportedly said he was on his way to deliver the drugs when he was stopped by officers for the bad taillight.
