Gov. Mike Parson and first lady Teresa Parson will show off their Chiefs pride Sunday while attending the Super Bowl.

The Parsons will travel to Miami Gardens, Florida, to watch the Kansas City Chiefs play against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

"Teresa and I are thrilled to attend the Super Bowl not just as Governor and First Lady of Missouri, but as avid Kansas City Chiefs fans," Mike Parson said in a Thursday news release. "We have been long-time season ticket holders and can't wait to see our team compete for the Super Bowl championship. Over the past 50 years, the Chiefs have inspired millions throughout Kansas City and the state of Missouri. They have made us proud, and it's their time to bring home the title."

He added he's predicting the Chiefs will win 31-21.

The Parsons did not use state taxpayer money to purchase the Super Bowl tickets, the news release notes. Except for required standard security, there will not be a cost to state taxpayers, it adds.

The Parsons plan to meet with California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who will also attend the Super Bowl.

The Parsons will provide a basket of "Buy Missouri items" to Newsom, as well as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to the news release.
