A Central Missouri family will take the trip of a lifetime Friday when they head to Miami for the Super Bowl.

It's all due to the generosity of friends and family.

Dustin Pryor, of Versailles, who has Downs syndrome, has been a Kansas City Chiefs fan his whole life and will get to see his favorite team play, along with his father and three brothers.

"It's too simple to say, but we can't come up with any better words than 'Thank you,'" Dustin's dad, Chuck, said. Chuck was a state representative serving Morgan and Camden counties for seven years.

Chuck said what made this even more special is how fast it all came about.

"We had a friend in Sedalia who invited us to come up to the AFC Championship Game a couple of weeks ago at Arrowhead," Chuck said. "After the Chiefs won the game, I took a picture of Dustin and my wife posted it to Facebook."

It was after seeing the picture, Chuck said, that another family friend, Heidi Rayl, of Versailles, started a GoFundMe page to send him and another family member to the game.

"Before we got home from that game, this had already snowballed," Chuck said. "We thought it would raise some money, but it went crazy."

The goal was to raise $16,000, but they got more than $20,000, Chuck said.

"Dustin would call us as he watched the page and saw the money coming in," he said. "He then said, 'I wish my brothers could go with me.'"

That's when Dustin's coworkers at the Versailles Walmart stepped up. They got in contact with the company's foundation and told them Dustin's story. Working with Fox Sports, which is broadcasting the game, Walmart was able to get everything in place for the family to go to the big game.

Chuck said while Dustin loves watching Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes play, it's another star on the team that is his favorite.

"Tight end Travis Kelce is his favorite because he has him on his fantasy team," Chuck laughed.

Visiting the Missouri Capitol this week, Dustin told lawmakers the Chiefs will win 31-21, with Mahomes responsible for 4 touchdowns.

"This is a testament to the type of people you find in Central Missouri," Chuck said. "There's a lot of people we know who contributed and a lot we don't know. They did it out of the goodness of their heart."
