Sweet Chipotle Event Center served a packed house of guests at the Chamber’s annual dinner meeting last weekend.

The California Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual dinner meeting Saturday at Sweet Chipotle Event Center.

Most notably at the event, the chamber honored recipients of its 2019 awards for Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Winners were as follows: Chelsea McGill, Citizen of the Year; Clenin Farm Supply, Business of the Year; and Judy Barbour, Volunteer of the Year.

The chamber also hosted a piccadilly/live auction as a benefit for its scholarship fund. This year, the live auction raised $4,255. Combined with the proceeds from the piccadilly auction and cash donations from the evening, the total raised for the Chamber Scholarship Fund eclipsed $9,000.

"The generosity of our members, businesses and community is greatly appreciated," Chamber Executive Secretary Sandra Ratcliff said. "Without their support, this would not have been possible."

During its business meeting, the chamber board approved its 2020 slate of officers, who will serve a one year term. Those elected are as follows: President - Brandy Brockes, Brockes Tire & Auto; Vice-President - Kayle Kiesling, ExhaleSpa; Secretary - Rita Hammerly, Burgers' Smokehouse; and Treasurer - Pamela Pearon, Central Bank.

The board also approved its 2020 proposed budget.

The California Area Chamber of Commerce's next regular meeting will take place at 8 a.m. Feb. 13.
