Culver's Restaurant recognized for Salvation Army fundraising

The Salvation Army of Jefferson City recently recognized Culver's Restaurant for its part in helping raise money during the 2019 Christmas Kettle campaign.

Culver's, located at 1920 Jefferson St., helped raise $432.38 by allowing The Salvation Army to place a countertop kettle at the business. This made Culver's the highest-collecting countertop kettle location.

"It's great to see how just a little item, like these little kettles, can raise so much money," local Salvation Army Capt. Justin Windell said in a news release. "Every little gift counts and adds up to allow us to make big changes in people's lives."

The small countertop kettles are placed at local businesses that may not be able to host a traditional larger kettle. The small kettles were placed at 16 locations throughout the Jefferson City area during the Christmas season and raised more than $3,000 for The Salvation Army.

This contributed to the $305,550.86 raised by The Salvation Army during the 2019 Christmas season, which was $24,450 short of the organization's goal.
