A Belle man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon in Maries County.
Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 4 p.m. on Route M, 5 miles west of Belle.
Cody Smith, 28, went off the south side of the road and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Jefferson City woman was hurt after a vehicle ran over her Wednesday afternoon in Cole County.
Patrol reports show the crash occurred at 4:50 p.m. on Route W, just south of Albert Place.
Sharon Hitzfield, 78, attempted to start a vehicle from underneath the hood. The vehicle lurched forward and ran over her. She was treated for moderate injuries.
