The Cole County Health Department's clinical hours will temporarily be 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m.-noon Fridays.

Women, Infants and Children program services will continue to be offered, as will birth/death certificates.

The shorter hours for the clinic are to allow nurses to catch up on paperwork and perform data entry related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has implemented a new reporting system that has increased the workload for staff, Cole County Health Department Director Kristi Campbell said.

"We only have seven nurses here at CCHD," she said in an email, "so by reducing the clinic services that are available on Friday afternoon, it will give them more time to catch up without having to work in the clinic."
