A jury trial has been set for Amanda Trimble, the former Moniteau County assessor who resigned earlier this year while under investigation for crimes she was eventually charged with through the Moniteau County Circuit Court.

A pre-trial conference will take place Jan. 15, and the jury trial is slated for April 5-8.

Trimble was charged with forgery, theft and filing false documents, all class D felonies; as well as fraudulent use of a credit/debit device, a class A misdemeanor, on Jan. 30. Trimble pleaded not guilty Aug. 14, and the above trial dates were scheduled last Tuesday.

An investigation by the Missouri Highway Patrol found Trimble took $4,816.57 from the county, spending more than $3,000 on fuel purchases, along with a trip to Texas and six out-of-town sporting events - all misrepresented as Moniteau County-related expenses.

Trimble's husband, Justin, was also charged in relation to the investigation earlier this year, with charges for fraudulent use of a credit device and stealing. His case has been continued or rescheduled multiple times, largely due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Most recently, the state ordered for fingerprinting July 31, and a case was set for either trial setting or disposition Dec. 17.
