Fulton woman faces charges after chase

A Fulton woman faces multiple charges after a weekend chase with Jefferson City police.

Diamond Vaughn, 20, is charged with resisting a lawful detention, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while revoked.

Officers saw Vaughn late Saturday night allegedly fail to stop at the intersection of Gray Fox Terrace and Southridge Drive, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement. Vaughn reportedly sped up and ran through another intersection at Southridge and Vieth drives after an officer turned on his emergency lights to try to get Vaughn to pull over.

Officers reported Vaughn reached speeds of more than 70 mph as she ran more stop lights and stop signs, eventually going onto Sun Valley Drive. After allegedly slowing to let a passenger out of the vehicle, Vaughn continued to Crader Drive, where she stopped and and was taken into custody.

She had two children in the back seat, and a search of the vehicle reportedly turned up a bag of marijuana and a digital scale, police reported.
