Jefferson City man wins big on Missouri Lottery drawing

A Jefferson City man recently won a jackpot while playing the Missouri Lottery, continuing a lucky trend in Cole County.

Horace Vaughn matched all five numbers drawn in the Oct. 11 Show Me Cash Drawing to win a jackpot of $79,000, according to at Missouri Lottery news release.

Vaughn purchased his ticket at Break Time on East McCarty Street in Jefferson City.

Vaughn's ticket was the 38th jackpot-winning Show Me Cash ticket sold in 2019, with an average prize of more than $201,000. Show Me Cash jackpots start at $50,000 and grow until won, with drawings every evening at 8:59 p.m.

In the most recent fiscal year, players in Cole County have won more than $13.2 million in Missouri Lottery prizes, according to Missouri Lottery officials. Retailers in the county have received over $1.2 million, and an additional $4.5 million has gone to educational programs in the county.
