Blair Oaks celebrates Homecoming, road trip style

Blair Oaks High School celebrated a road trip-themed Homecoming - "Destination: Homecoming"- this week.

Students participated in spirit days all week. Monday's spirit day was "Journey to New Jersey," with students wearing their favorite teams' jerseys. Tuesday was "Hot Stop in Hawaii," with students wearing Hawaiian-themed clothes. Wednesday was "Tour of Texas," with students wearing western wear. Thursday was "Pit Stop at Powder Puff," with students dressing to show who they wanted to win the powder puff game. Friday's spirit day was "Back Home to Blair Oaks," with students wearing green.

The Homecoming parade and assembly were Friday afternoon at the Blair Oaks campus, followed by the Homecoming football game against Southern Boone High School on Friday evening.

Adam Dyer was named Homecoming king during the assembly, and Natalie Otto was crowned Homecoming queen during halftime of the football game.

The Homecoming dance was Saturday.

Queen Natalie Marie Otto is the daughter of David and Sara Otto, of St. Thomas. Her activities include varsity softball, National Honor Society and Pep Club. Her favorite quote is: "Be grateful for what you have, work hard for what you don't have." Her favorite movie is "The Last Song." She is most likely to be found playing softball or hanging out with Riley and friends. Her future plans include attending college to pursue a degree in dental hygiene.

Riley Cole Lentz is the son of Marc and Ashley Lentz, of Wardsville. His activities include varsity football. His favorite quote is: "The only thing to fear is fear itself." His favorite movie is "The Fast and the Furious" series. His future plans include attending State Technical College of Missouri for physical therapy assistant. He is most likely to be found on the football field or hanging out with friends.

Tori Renae Martin is the daughter of Andy and Jill Martin, of Wardsville. Her activities include Student Council, National Honor Society, Pep Club, varsity volleyball and H2 Volleyball Club. She is a member of Concord Baptist Church. Her favorite quote is: "Be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody." Her favorite movie is "The Best of Me." She is most likely to be found sleeping or playing volleyball. Her future plans include attending William Penn University to get a degree in elementary education and play volleyball.

King Adam Michel Dyer is the son of Mike and April Dyer, of Taos. His activities include SkillsUSA, FFA Sentinel and archery. His favorite quote is: "Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men" by JFK. His favorite movie is "Forrest Gump." His future plans include attending State Technical College of Missouri to pursue a degree in nuclear welding. He is most likely to be found doing something he is not supposed to be doing.

Kaitlyn Nicole Kolb is the daughter of Darrell and Ginger Kolb, of Wardsville. Her activities include varsity softball, basketball and Pep Club. Her favorite quote is: "Live for the moments you can't put in words." Her favorite movie is "The Longest Ride." Her future plans include attending college to pursue a degree in speech pathology and play softball. She is most likely to be found hanging out with friends or playing softball.

Eric Ross Northweather is the son of Sean and Joy Northweather, of Wardsville. His activities include basketball, Operation Bugle Boy and FCA. His favorite quote is: "Whenever I'm about to do something, I think, 'Would an idiot do that?' and if they would, I do not do that thing." His favorite movie is "Happy Gilmore." He is most likely to be found playing basketball. His future plans include attending college and playing basketball then going to medical school.

Page Olivia Lemongelli is the daughter of Ralph and Patty Lemongelli, of Wardsville. Her activities include National Honor Society president, Operation Bugle Boy, FCA leader and Pep Club. Her favorite quote I:, "Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up," Galatians 6:9. Her favorite movie is "Scooby Doo: The Movie." She is most likely to be found working out or hanging out with her boyfriend, Caden, or making a Quizlet. Her future plans include going into the health field to study kinesiology and nutrition and to become a physical therapist and certified personal trainer.

Kyler Brandon Griep is the son of Kristi and Kevin Griep, of Wardsville. His activities include wrestling, football and FFA. His favorite quote is: "Don't work till you get it right, work till you don't get it wrong." His favorite move is "Road House." He is most likely to be found hunting, fishing, playing sports or hanging out with the guys. His future plans include attending either State Technical College of Missouri for electricity or the University of Missouri for conservation of wildlife and forestry.

Paige Renee Henry is the daughter of Ryan and Mandy Henry, of Wardsville. Her activities include club volleyball, FCA leader, National Honor Society secretary, Pep Club. She is a member of Concord Baptist Church youth group. Her favorite quote is: "It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." Her favorite movie is "The Notebook." She is most likely to be found with her friends or family and eating pizza and ice cream. Her future plans include attending Southwest Baptist University to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy.

Caleb Olen Meeks is the son of Matthew and Brandy Meeks, of Wardsville. His activities include class president, Spanish Club president, FCA leader, wrestling, Traction, National Honor Society vice president and Pep Club. His favorite quote is: "Common sense is lacking." His favorite movie is "Vision Quest." He is most likely to be found hanging out with his friends and family. His future plans include attending college and majoring in chemical engineering.
