Jefferson City police catch suspect after shots fired at vehicle

Police took a man into custody this morning shortly after shots were fired at a moving vehicle in Jefferson City's Old Munichburg neighborhood.

The Jefferson City Police Department reports its officers responded around 9:20 a.m. to calls reporting gunshots in the 200 block of West Dunklin Street. At the scene, they learned that a man on foot had fired multiple rounds at a vehicle driving through the area.

The victim and witnesses gave police a description of a suspect seen fleeing the area. Officers then were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody moments later in the 700 block of Madison Street. The suspect was transported to the police department for an interview.
