Little Explorers Discovery Center will host its annual Princess Party featuring plenty of Disney favorites this Saturday.
The organization will give youth and parents a day to remember with musical acts, autographs and photos at First United Methodist Church, 201 Monroe St. in Jefferson City.
"We wanted to do something that's a fun time, and the children will love it," Little Explorers Director Donna Scheidt said. "We'll be raising money for a good cause at the same time."
Tickets cost $25 per person and include books to collect autographs, hors d'oeuvres, and meet and greet with 14 princesses like Jasmine, Anna, Elsa, Ariel, Moana, Rapunzel and Snow White, as portrayed by Mayor Carrie Tergin.
The activities will run 2-4 p.m. with other character appearances including Aladdin, Genie, Prince Eric, Olaf, Tinkerbell and more.
"It's for boys and girls, and we just want everyone to come and have a good time," Scheidt said.
Board member Cathy Crocker was inspired by a similar benefit event she attended years ago.
"When you see the look on the children's faces when they get to meet one on one with their princess, it was so cool," Crocker said.
Parents and children are encouraged to dress up and take unlimited photos.
The fundraiser's proceeds will benefit Little Explorers Discovery Center, a nonprofit child care center and United Way of Central Missouri partner agency serving primarily low- and middle-income families.
Anyone interested in sponsoring a child, family or table or assisting with set cleanup should call Little Explorers Discovery Center at 573-636-6461.
