Jefferson City residents hurt in crash at Leslie Boulevard and Chestnut Street

Two people were hurt Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Jefferson City.

The crash was reported at 7:21 a.m. at the intersection of Leslie Boulevard and Chestnut Street, according to Jefferson City Police Department reports.

The investigation revealed Xavier Ramos, 17, of Jefferson City was driving north on Chestnut Street when he turned left into the path of a vehicle driven by Dennis Richardson, 54, of Jefferson City, who was traveling east on Leslie Boulevard.

Ramos' vehicle began to spin and rolled on the driver's side, coming to rest in the roadway.

Ramos was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Police also reported Richardson had minor injuries but did not indicate whether he sought medical treatment.

Traffic in the area was diverted for approximately 30 minutes while the scene was investigated.
